This past July, Curecrete celebrated an exciting and significant milestone – the filling of its 250,000th numbered drum of Ashford Formula! That translates to over 2.75 BILLION square feet of densified concrete since Curecrete began numbering Ashford Formula blue drums. Thousands more gallons of Ashford Formula was sold and millions of square feet were densified before Curecrete began the process of numbering drums, but we couldn’t let this landmark occasion go by without the proper recognition it deserved! To date, Curecrete has densified more than 4.5 BILLION square feet of the world’s concrete surfaces!
Team members at Curecrete Headquarters in Springville, Utah signed the drum, representing years of collective effort, hard work and dedication it took to reach this achievement. Each person was then given the opportunity to participate in filling the drum, with company founder Jerry Jones starting it off. A special gold seal was then put in place to be opened by the lucky recipient of drum 250K!
Fortuitously, the drum made its way to Wuxi Hua Can Chemical Company (HCC), our exclusive distributor in China, which was the first company to bring the densification concept to the Chinese market over 15 years ago. Then, the market was much smaller than it is today, with most local clients and architects never having seen or heard of a liquid densifier that could chemically react with finished concrete. Some even thought the product was a hoax, though fortunately many others saw its major potential. With the Chinese construction market most likely being the biggest construction market in the world, there was no more fitting place to celebrate the 250,000th Ashford Formula numbered drum than in China to mark the product’s journey of success.
The drum was later celebrated again on the site of Geely, a rapidly growing Chinese auto manufacturer who has specified Ashford Formula for all their future factories floors. The client themselves at the celebration in Xiang Tang said they chose Ashford Formula over other competitors in the market due to its tested superior chemical reaction with concrete.
The Ashford Formula continues to grow in the Chinese market and around the world. Just like Geely, more and more clients are realizing the long term benefits and savings that come from doing it right, the first time. So, here’s to the next 250,000 drums and 2.75 BILLION square feet!
